about

Greek Sephardic, traditional, from the repertoire of David Saltiel and Savina Yannatou

When you pass by Yedi Kule prison, you’ll see the high walls surrounding it. It is for your sake that I am locked in chains. I lament in despair; they deprive me of light. I see death face to face. I’m in jail, you are surrounded by flowers. Have a black dress made, go to the synagogue and make an offering for me.
